Kevin Henshaw, Chief Operating Officer and President
Kevin joined IMVU in July 2007 as Director of International Business Development. Prior to IMVU, Kevin spent over a decade with Adobe Systems, where he held a variety of sales, sales operations and product development roles. While based in Asia with Adobe, Kevin opened the company's offices in Hong Kong, Taipei and Beijing. Later he moved to Sydney, Australia where he held an Asia-Pacific wide sales management role. While in Hong Kong, Kevin also served as the Asia sales manager for a relational database firm, and he spent several years with an IT consulting firm (acquired by Gartner).
Kevin earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology, with Honours, from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
When not obsessing over his avatar's looks, Kevin loves to explore California with his two young sons. Kevin is also an avid hockey player, and he can frequently be found out of position - and out of breath - on ice rinks around the Bay Area.
Peter Reeves, Vice President of Engineering
Peter joined IMVU in January of 2015 as the Director of Mobile Engineering. A 27-year veteran in software development and engineering management, his success in overseeing the development of Android and IOS products quickly earned him a promotion to the Vice President of Engineering. Prior to IMVU, Peter served a variety of management and executive roles where he led engineering departments for small startups and publicly traded companies to success. Past endeavors include companies such as NetObjects, Ventro, Akimbo, and Barnes & Noble Yuzu. In addition to his management roles, Peter founded a number of startups where he demonstrated expertise in engineering management and software development for smartphones, web, and desktop applications.
When Peter is not hard at work, he's an avid motorcycle enthusiast and traveler. During his adventures, his motorcycle has enabled unparalleled experiences in all 50 states.
Mike Smith, Vice President of People and Talent
Mike joined IMVU in December 2009 as Senior Director of People and Talent. Mike now leads all human resources, staffing and facilities at IMVU. Prior to IMVU, Mike held global staffing and HR roles with WebEx, Cisco Systems, Google, Tesla Motors and Tonic. Prior to running internal corporate staffing and HR functions, Mike held a vice president role in the executive and engineering search space with Modis (now Adecco) growing its largest region ($110 million) from 1998-2004. Previously, Mike launched his own consulting company, and clients included Amazon.com, Facebook, and Netflix. At IMVU, Mike helped create such a positive culture that the company was selected one of the Best Places to Work in The Bay Area 6 out of the past 7 years.
Mike completed his studies in International Business from San Diego State University. Mike is a member of the Northern California Human Resource Association (NCHRA).
When out of the office, Mike can be found vacationing in Tahoe City, playing soccer on one of three different local teams, or attending San Francisco Giants or 49ers games with his wife and three children.
John Rountree, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & General Manager
John joined IMVU in May 2011 and has led a number of important strategic initiatives in the areas of risk management, payment channel expansion, product development, and business operations.
Prior to joining IMVU, John held leadership positions in financial services and technology companies including, for example: Citibank, Providian Financial (now JPMorgan Chase), PayPal, and Linden Lab's SecondLife. With more than two decades of professional experience, John has managed a variety of teams and functional areas covering risk management, data insight & analytics, customer relations, payments & billing operations, and product development. Previously, as an independent business consultant, John spent several years helping clients internationally and has worked in many key markets across Europe and Asia.
Outside of work, John enjoys traveling. He has visited more than 30 countries across the globe.
Lomit Patel, Vice President of Customer Acquisition
Lomit joined IMVU in December 2016 and oversees all new customer acquisition and retention efforts. Upon the start of his tenure, he quickly optimized the acquisition strategy to accelerate user growth from single digits to over 40% YOY. Prior to IMVU, Lomit held leadership roles to help drive successful growth at startups from early stage to $500M+ valuations including Roku, TrustedID (acquired by Equifax), Texture and Earthlink.
Lomit earned a Bachelor's degree in Business from South Bank University and a Master's degree in Marketing from Webster University. Outside of work, Lomit enjoys travelling, biking and playing soccer.
